Nielson's Bluemont Village Center. This stone and frame structure was originally a dance hall in Bluemont's heyday as a summer vacation destination on the Washington and Old Dominion Railroad. For most of the past two decades it housed Cochran's Lumber and Millworks--which specialized in the restoration of old homes, with clients that included Colonial Williamsburg and the White House. In 2002 it was purchased by the Nielson family and is being restored as an arts/performance space with artisan shops. Return to Special Places. |
